Heritage roses and gardens - Le Clos de Nuits

A few kilometres from Le Jardin de ma Mère, thhe Clos de Nuits is a second garden entirely devoted to Gallic roses. The project was originally initiated to re-assemble a collection and thus participate in saving this endangered family.

In five years some 250 varieties still currently available were brought in, from commerce or public and private rose gardens. Planting was organised according to specific criteria (period of creation, creators…), and first observations led to recording of facts.

Confronted with a number of errors, the garden has now taken on a different orientation and become an identification area for confirmed or supposed Gallic varieties, consequently contributing to the clarification and authentification of those in circulation today.
